MJ Gleeson welcomes Elaine Bailey to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, Sheffield –  MJ Gleeson plc (LON: GLE) today announced the appointment of Elaine Bailey to its Board as Non-Executive Director, effective from 1st March 2021.

“We are delighted to welcome Elaine to the Board. Her wide-ranging experience will be highly relevant as we look to the next phase of the Group’s development, especially in a post-Covid environment with sustainability at the top of the agenda.” said Board Chairman, Dermot Gleeson.

Elaine is expected to become Chair of the Sustainability Committee and a member of the Audit, Remuneration, and Nomination Committees.

About Elaine Bailey

Elaine has extensive experience in housing, engineering, construction, and government services gained from a varied career across the private, public, regulated, and not-for-profit sectors.

Elaine was Chief Executive of Hyde Housing Group (2014-2019), a London-based Housing Association with 50,000 properties and a development program approaching 1,500 units per annum. Previously she held several senior management roles at Serco (2000-2013) and HM Prison Service (1996-2000). Elaine, a Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers, spent her initial career in several engineering consultancies.

Elaine has several non-executive roles including Residential Secure Income plc (since 2020), McCarthy & Stone (Shared Ownership) Limited (since 2020), and at the Health and Safety Executive (since 2021).
