– USA, FL – With the retirement of Lykes Insurance CEO and President John Brabson, effective Dec. 31, 2015, Bill Taulbee, executive vice president in the Lykes Insurance Winter Park office, has been named CEO and president. Founded in 1925, Lykes Insurance is a commercial insurance firm with offices in Winter Park, Tampa, Fort Myers and Sarasota.

Taulbee joined Lykes Insurance in 1985 and, with the exception of a six-year period as vice president/COO of Dulando/Sunrise National Distributors, has held leadership positions with Lykes Insurance ever since. Active in the Orlando area, he has served as a city councilman and member of the Charter Review & Code of Conduct Commission and board member of the Community Redevelopment Agency for the City of Maitland; as well as president and board member, Art & History Museums; board member of United Arts of Central Florida and board member of the business caucus of the Florida Chamber of Commerce. While in Tampa, he was a member of the board of Children’s Museum of Tampa and University of Tampa board of counselors, as well as a member of the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Hillsborough County Special Olympics and Independent Insurance Agents of Greater Tampa.
