Laird announces Nathalie Rachou to its Board as upcoming Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – Laird PLC today announces the appointment of Nathalie Rachou as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2016. Nathalie will become a member of the Audit Committee.

Nathalie is a Non-Executive Director of Société Générale, where she chairs the Risk Committee and is a member of the Audit Committee. She is also a Non-Executive Director and member of the Audit Committee of Veolia Environnement and Altran Technologies.

After graduating from HEC (Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Paris), Nathalie joined Banque Indosuez (later renamed Crédit Agricole Indosuez). She worked there until 1999 when she left to form her own company, Topiary Finance, which subsequently merged with Rouvier Associés in 2014. She continues to act as Senior Advisor to Rouvier Associés.

Dr Martin Read, Chairman, said: “We are delighted that Nathalie will be joining the Laird Board. She has a strong financial background and has been a Non-Executive Director of several large companies including in the technology arena. She has wide experience of international business and M&A processes.”

“Nathalie’s appointment further strengthens the diversity of thought and business experience on the Board building on the recent appointment of Kjersti Wiklund, with her background in telecoms.”

In view of the fact that four new directors have been appointed in 2015, the Board has asked Sir Christopher Hum, whose term of appointment comes up for renewal on 1 December 2015, to remain on the Board for a further year. Although Sir Christopher will have served nine years as a Director, the Board is satisfied, after a rigorous review, that he remains of independent character and judgement. As a consequence, the number of Directors on the Board will be expanded temporarily from eight to nine from 1 January 2016 until 1 December 2016.
