The Laclede Group appoints Rob Jones to its Board of Directors

– USA, MO – The Laclede Group Inc.’s (NYSE: LG) board of directors has elected investment banking and commodities industry veteran Rob L. Jones as its newest member effective February 22, 2016. Jones fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Tony Leness.

Jones, 57, served as co-head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Commodities, Inc. (MLC) from 2007 until his retirement in March of 2012. MLC is a global commodities trading business and a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of America Merrill Lynch. The board has appointed Mr. Jones to the Corporate Governance and Strategy committees.

Prior to serving as co-head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch Commodities, Jones held various positions with Merrill Lynch & Co. from 1993 to 2007, including managing director, co-head Global Energy and Power Investment Banking and founder, Merrill Lynch Commodity Partners. Prior to that time, Jones spent seven years in investment banking with First Boston as an associate and vice president. Jones’ strong intellectual capabilities, along with his stakeholder management skills, have distinguished him as a leader in both investment banking and the energy industry. Jones holds a degree in finance and MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Jones has also provided academic and career guidance to students as an executive-in-residence at the University of Texas at Austin in the McCombs School of Business.
