Kenmare Resources appoints Dr Elaine Dorward-King to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– IRELAND, Dublin –  Kenmare Resources plc (LON: KMR | ISE: KMR), one of the leading global producers of titanium minerals and zircon, which operates the Moma Titanium Minerals Mine in northern Mozambique, today announced the appointment of Elaine Dorward-King as a Non-Executive Director, effective immediately.

Dr. Dorward-King has over 30 years’ experience in the mining, chemicals and engineering industries, including the mineral sands sector.

“I am delighted to welcome Elaine to Kenmare’s Board. Her significant leadership experience in both mineral sand and sustainability will complement the existing skillset of our Directors to ensure a strong balance of skills, experience and diversity,” said Steven McTiernan, Chairman of Kenmare.

“Kenmare is focused on operating responsibly, with a progressive land rehabilitation programme, the majority of our power needs to be supplied by hydropower and no chemicals used in our mining or processing operations. We look forward to Elaine’s counsel as we strive to continually improve our environmental, social and governance performance,” he added.

In conjunction with her appointment to the Board, Dr. Dorward-King also becomes a member of Kenmare’s Sustainability Committee.

Since March 2013 she has served as Executive Vice President of Sustainability and External Relations for Newmont Goldcorp, the world’s leading gold mining company. Prior to that, she worked from 1992 to 2013 for Rio Tinto, holding positions including Global Head of Health, Safety and Environment, and Managing Director of Richards Bay Minerals in South Africa, a mineral sands mining and beneficiation company and a subsidiary of Rio Tinto. She holds a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Colorado State University.
