Jonathan Peachey Joins Filip Technologies as CEO

NEW YORK – Filip Technologies(TM), developer of Filip(TM), the world’s first wearable locator and phone designed for children, today announced that Jonathan Peachey has joined the company as Chief Executive Officer. Peachey comes to Filip Technologies from Virgin Group where he served as an advisor to Sir Richard Branson and held various management roles for more than a decade.

Additionally, the company today changed its name from Evado Filip to Filip Technologies and unveiled the new design of its first product, Filip, a next generation communicator for kids and their parents, which will be launched later this year.

“Jonathan brings a wealth of international corporate leadership to Filip Technologies that will be crucial to our success as we launch Filip later this year,” said Sten Kirkbak, founder of Filip Technologies. “His experience managing a diverse portfolio of businesses for one of the world’s leading brands, as well as his track record building companies and advising startups makes him an ideal fit to lead our management team.”

Most recently Peachey served as CEO of Virgin Group in North America where he also sat on the Group’s global executive partnership committee. Early in his career at Virgin Group he worked on the expansion of Virgin’s interests in mobile telecommunications. He was also a founding executive and board member of Virgin Galactic, the world’s first commercial space tourism operator, and a senior member of the team that launched Virgin America, the award-winning U.S. airline, where he also served on the board of directors.

In addition to his experience at Virgin, Peachey has advised early stage ventures and growth companies, and is a mentor at startup accelerator TechStars NYC.

“With Filip, we have an opportunity to revolutionize the way families communicate,” said Peachey. “For the first time, children can wear a product on their wrist that will keep them truly connected to their parents and other family members wherever they are. Filip is a special little device designed to be safe and suitable for kids and it is a pleasure to be working with this outstanding team as we bring it to market in the next few months.”

Final Design Unveiled

Filip Technologies also unveiled the final design of Filip, which was updated based on trial feedback from parents and children. Filip is specifically designed to be a fun, colorful device worn on the wrist that keeps kids and parents in touch with the push of a button and lets parents find and speak with their child in the case of an emergency. The design has already been prototyped and will go into production in the fall. The company also launched its new website at www.myFilip.com.
