Jersey Electricity appoints Philip Austin to the Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, Jersey –  Jersey Electricity Plc (LON: JEL) today announced the appointment of Philip Austin, MBE, to its Board as a non-executive Director with effect from today, 12th May 2016.

Mr Austin, 67, spent most of his career in banking with HSBC. In 1993 he moved to Jersey where, from 1997 to 2001, he was Deputy CEO of the Bank’s business in the Offshore Islands. In 2001, he became the founding CEO of Jersey Finance Ltd, the body set up as a joint venture between the Government of Jersey and its finance industry, to represent and promote the industry at home and abroad. In 2006, Mr Austin joined Equity Trust as CEO of its Channel Islands business, a position he held until 2009 when he left to take on a portfolio of non-executive positions – a portfolio that currently consists of both publicly listed and privately owned businesses.
