Jefferson Security Bank added Cynthia Kitner and Andrew McMillan to its Board of Directors

– USA, WV – Jefferson Security Bank (OTC:JFWV), announced the election of Cynthia A. Kitner and R. Andrew McMillan Jr. to the bank’s board of directors at the annual shareholders meeting held on April 27.

As President and CEO of Jefferson Security Bank, Kitner commented, “We are thrilled that Andrew will be joining the board. With his exceptional wealth of knowledge and expertise, we are confident that he will be a valuable resource in helping us make key decisions to better serve our community.”

McMillan is the President and CEO of Jefferson Distributing Company, an Anheuser-Busch beer wholesaler in Martinsburg, West Virginia. McMillan has more than 15 years of experience in finance, business administration, operations management and sales and marketing. Prior to accepting a position as Chief Operating Officer of Jefferson Distributing in 2013, he spent eight years moving up the ranks from associate to senior associate to principal at 5AM Ventures, a venture capital firm in Menlo Park, California, focused on building life science companies.

McMillan also has a doctorate in chemistry and is an accomplished scientist. From 2000 to 2005, he worked as a scientist at NASA’s Ames Research Center in Mountain View, California. During his last two years there, as a physical scientist for the Bioengineering Branch and Center for Nanotechnology, he managed a team of ten scientists focused on research and development. McMillan also authored or co-authored 15 research publications from 1999 to 2006 and is the co-owner of four patents.

Since he returned to West Virginia to help manage Jefferson Distributing, his family’s business, McMillan has become an active member of the community. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Shepherdstown, and he also serves on the board of directors for the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation, the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle and the Friends of Music.

McMillan said he is looking forward to fulfilling his new role as a board member for Jefferson Security Bank. “I’m eager to contribute to the growth and vitality of the bank,” he said. “When local businesses and community members work together like this, everyone benefits.”
