Intertek Group announces Graham Allan to its Board as upcoming Senior Independent Director

– UK, London – Intertek Group PLC (LSE:ITRK), the leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, announces the appointment of Graham Allan as a Non-Executive Director of Intertek with effect from 1 October 2017.

Graham Allan, who is based in Hong Kong, has served as the Group Chief Executive of Dairy Farm International Holdings Limited, a pan-Asian retailer and a subsidiary of Jardine Matheson, since 2013 and will step down at the end of August, having previously been the Chief Operating Officer from 2012.

Prior to joining Dairy Farm, he was President and CEO at Yum! Restaurant International and was responsible for global brands KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell in all markets except the US and China. Since 1989, he has held various senior positions in multinational food and beverage companies with operations across the globe and has lived and worked in Australia, the US and Europe.
Graham holds an MBA from the University of Melbourne. He is also a director of Yonghui Superstores Co., Ltd in China, where Dairy Farm have a 20% stake. Graham is a Commissioner of Hero Group, an Indonesian retailer. Graham was previously a Non-Executive Director of InterContinental Hotels Group.

Upon joining the Board, Graham Allan will become the Senior Independent Director and a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.

Michael Wareing will be stepping down from the Board on 30 September 2017 after serving over six years as the Chair of the Audit Committee and Senior Independent Director. Michael has played a major role as a member of the Nomination Committee bringing in two new Non-Executive Directors in Jean-Michel Valette and Gurnek Bains both appointed on 1 July 2017 and today with the appointment of Graham Allan on 1 October 2017.

Andrew Martin, who currently Chairs the Audit Committee, will now also be appointed a member of the Remuneration Committee with effect from 1 October 2017.
