Ignis appoints Eric Stobart and David Watts as Non-Executive directors

– UK, London – Ignis Asset Management is pleased to announce the appointment of Eric Stobart and David Watts as Non-Executive Directors. On the Board, Eric Stobart will Chair the Audit and Risk Committee and David Watts will Chair the Investment Committee.

Eric Stobart

Eric Stobart currently holds Non-Executive roles at Throgmorton Trust, Utilico Investments and Capita Managing Agency and senior trustee positions on the pension schemes of Lloyds Banking Group, Anglian Water, Dixons Store Group and Lloyd’s of London. Eric is a Chartered Accountant with an MBA from London Business School who began his professional career at Coopers & Lybrand and latterly worked for what is now Lloyds Banking Group from 1977 to 2008. At Lloyds Banking Group, Eric held various senior positions including Chief Executive of Hill Samuel Bank Ltd and latterly Director of Public Policy and Regulation.

David Watts

David began his professional career at Phillips & Drew in 1971 before moving to Gartmore in 1979, where he spent the remainder of his professional career. At Gartmore, David held various senior management positions including the role of Chief Investment Officer and latterly the role of Joint Chief Executive from 1996 until his retirement in 1999. David is currently a Non-Executive Director at JP Morgan Fleming Income & Growth Investment Trust and has previously held Non-Executive Directorships at Martin Currie Investment Management, Investec High Income Trust, Merchant Navy Ratings Pension Fund, Key Asset Management and AXA UK plc.

Welcoming Eric and David to the Board, Chairman, Clive Bannister, said: “I am delighted that Eric and David have agreed to join the Board of Ignis Asset Management. They have both had illustrious careers in financial services and will bring a wealth of commercial experience and insight to Ignis.

I am pleased to say the business has made good progress in this respect. Eric and David join the Board at an interesting juncture, when their experience and acumen will be invaluable as we continue with the next phase of our development.”
