Hastings Group appoints Dr Teresa Robson-Capps and Alison Burns to the board as Non-Executive Directors

– UK – Hastings Group Holdings plc (LSE, HSTG) announces that Dr Teresa Robson-Capps and Alison Burns have been appointed as non-executive directors with immediate effect. 

Teresa is currently a non-executive director and member of the Audit Committee for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank Group plc and is Chairman of the ACS Group. She was previously a non-executive director for National Australia Bank; Europe/Clydesdale Bank.  Teresa brings significant experience with international blue chip companies including HSBC, Accenture and Cable & Wireless, and experience of the insurance industry. 

Alison has held executive and non-executive roles within Aviva plc, including the position of CEO of Aviva Ireland. She has extensive financial services experience, gained in senior roles with Santander, Bupa, Lloyds TSB and AXA UK, and brings strong leadership and executive management experience.

Commenting on the appointments, Mike Fairey, Chairman of Hastings Group said: “I am delighted to welcome Teresa and Alison to the Board; their significant industry experience will be invaluable to us as we continue to execute our long-term growth strategy and deliver on the promises we made to investors at our IPO. Also, as  stated in the Company’s IPO Prospectus, and confirmed in its Annual Report for 2015, it was our intention to become compliant with the Board independence provisions of the UK Corporate Governance Code by the end of this year. These two appointments enable us to achieve that and also bring welcome gender diversity to the Board”.” 

Teresa will be appointed as a member of the Audit Committee and Risk Committee and Alison will be appointed as a member of the Remuneration Committee and Risk Committee. As a result of these Committee appointments it has been agreed that Malcolm Le May will step down as a member of the Audit Committee and Ian Cormack will step down as a member of the Risk Committee. Malcolm will continue as a member of the Risk Committee and chair of the Remuneration Committee; Ian will continue as a member of the Audit Committee and Nomination Committee.
