Government Properties Income Trust adds Elena Poptodorova to its Board as Independent Trustee

– USA, MA – Government Properties Income Trust (Nasdaq:GOV) today announced that Ms. Elena Poptodorova has been elected to its Board of Trustees as an Independent Trustee. With Ms. Poptodorova’s election, GOV has increased the size of its Board from five to six members.

Ms. Poptodorova has been the Director of the AJC Central Europe office since October 2016. Prior to her current position, Ms. Poptodorova held many senior positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Republic of Bulgaria, including serving as the Bulgarian Ambassador to the United States from 2010 to 2016 and from 2002 to 2008. In addition to her extensive government service, Ms. Poptodorova is a current board member of the European Institute, the American Foundation for Bulgaria, the Executive Council on Diplomacy, the Women’s Foreign Policy Group, American University in Bulgaria and the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Germany.

Ms. Poptodorova was elected as an Independent Trustee in Class III of GOV’s Board. Ms. Poptodorova’s current term as a GOV Trustee will extend to the annual meeting of GOV shareholders in 2018.
