Global Energy Development appoints Zac Phillips to Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, London – Global Energy Development PLC, the Latin America focused petroleum exploration, development and production company (AIM: GED) with operations in Colombia, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Donald Zac (“Zac”) Phillips to the Company’s Board as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.

Mr. Phillips, aged 41 and a UK national, has over 16 years of experience in the finance and energy industry.  Mr. Phillips holds a chemical engineering degree and a doctorate of chemical engineering from BP and the University of Bath.  He is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (“SPE”) and Institute of Chemical Engineers (“IChemE“).

From 2006 to 2010, Mr. Phillips served as Chief Financial Officer and founding director of Dubai World’s Oil & Gas Business, DB Petroleum (formerly BSG Energy). He currently acts as an independent energy consultant to companies during periods of development and expansion, assisting with areas such as investment banking, asset valuation, mergers, acquisitions and capital market activity through Phillips Energy Consultants, a financial management firm he founded. He also currently holds the role of non-executive director for Kairos Petroleum, an international company involved in the development of oil fields in Nigeria.
