Gamevice adds Kevin Chou to its Board along with raising $12.5m Series A funding co-led by TransLink Capital and CTV

– USA, CA – Gamevice Inc. announces a US$12.5 million Series A co-led by TransLink Capital and California Technology Ventures (CTV). Other notables include BAM Ventures, TYLT Ventures, and Kevin Chou, the former CEO of Kabam and new Gamevice board member. Gamevice Inc. is the creator of an attachable gamepad controller that transforms smart devices into hyper-advanced mobile gaming consoles, currently available online and in the 490 Apple retail stores worldwide.

As the mobile gaming industry continues its yearly increase from an all-time high in 2016 of $38bn, Gamevice has grown from a small start-up to one of the leaders in addressing the needs of mobile gamers worldwide. Consumer demand for amplified mobile gaming experiences is proven by the recent success of the Nintendo Switch™, the fact that 84% of Apple’s App Store revenue came from video games, and analyst projections for mobile game revenue to reach $65bn by 2020. Gamevice has positioned itself as the leading gamepad solution and with exciting upcoming partnerships along with an expanded product line that will work with over 1 billion devices.

“The market demand for our products have been phenomenal. Having been sold out for most of the holiday season, we will look to launch additional products while rapidly increasing our production and global distribution. Our Series A funding and growing team will expedite this growth along with our partnerships with gaming and non-gaming companies,” said Phillip Hyun, CEO, Gamevice Inc.

As part of the Series A, Gamevice has expanded their management team, one of which is David Jeon, formerly of Apple, Beats by Dre and Harman International, who joins as Head of Product Development.

“Gamevice’s design and patented technology transforms traditional mobile games, which is a $38bn per year global market that will continue to evolve with new and better technology,” said Jay Eum, Co-Founder and Managing Director, TransLink Capital. “We invested in Gamevice because it is one of the few companies trying to innovative and provide consumers with a unique experience that leverages mobile devices. We expect Gamevice to generate strong demand from consumers and game developers globally, especially in Asia where mobile is considered the primary platform for gaming.”

Gamevice elevates gameplay for mobile gamers by delivering console gaming controls to users. It currently has products for Apple’s iPhone 7/7 plus and 6/6S/6 plus/6S plus smartphones, iPad Air, iPad Mini, and iPad Pro. Weighing in at less than a pound, Gamevice’s attachable controllers are latency free and provide the best portable gameplay of any MFi-certified controller on the market.

With almost 1,000 Gamevice-supported iOS games available, mobile gamers not only have console-like hardware at their fingertips, they have a game library too.
