Galliford Try appoints Andrew Duxbury to its Board as Finance Director alongside Graham Prothero stepping to CEO

– UK, Cowley – Galliford Try plc (LON:GFRD), the housebuilding, regeneration and construction group, announces that Peter Truscott has stepped down as Chief Executive and leaves the business with immediate effect.

The Board is pleased to announce that Graham Prothero, currently Group Finance Director, will succeed Peter as Chief Executive. Andrew Duxbury, currently Finance Director of Linden Homes and previously Group Financial Controller, will succeed Graham as Group Finance Director and joins the Board with immediate effect.

Peter Ventress, Chairman, said: “As a Board, we are pleased that our strategic succession planning has enabled us to make a smooth transition both for the role of CEO and that of Finance Director. We take succession planning very seriously and are delighted that our efforts in this area have paid off so well.

Graham has been a member of the Board since February 2013 and has contributed strongly to the strategic development of the company. He is well respected both within the business and externally by our investor base and other stakeholders.

Andrew joined the Group from PwC in 2012 and has held a number of senior finance positions since, including Group Financial Controller. He has a bright future as our new FD.

About Graham Prothero

Graham joined Galliford Try as Finance Director on 1 February 2013. He was previously with Development Securities plc (now U&I plc), a listed property developer and investor in the UK, where he was Finance Director from November 2008. From 2001 until 2008 Graham was a partner with Ernst & Young. Graham is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and previously held the position of Finance Director with Blue Circle Properties and Taywood Homes. Graham is a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Marshalls plc.

About Andrew Duxbury

Andrew joined Galliford Try in March 2012 as Group Financial Controller and from 2016 held a number of operational finance roles, including Finance Director of Linden Homes. Andrew is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and, prior to joining Galliford Try, he worked for PwC.

Peter Truscott said: “I have enjoyed my time with the Group. The company has a strong management team and a clear growth strategy against which it is making good progress. The decision to leave is a personal one and has been made so that I may pursue other opportunities.”
