esure Group appoints Alan Rubenstein and Peter Shaw to its Board as Non-Executive Directors

– UK, Surrey – esure Group plc (LSE:ESUR), announces that its Board has appointed Alan Rubenstein and Peter Shaw as Non-Executive Directors. Alan has been appointed as a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees and Peter has been appointed as a member of the Risk and Remuneration Committees. The appointments will be effective from 8 March 2017.

The Board also announces that Peter Ward is to step down from his position as a Non-Executive Director of esure Group plc at the conclusion of the Annual General Meeting on 17 May 2017.

Peter Ward will leave the Board after 16 years having been a member of the esure Group Board through the Company’s management buy-out in 2010 and flotation on the London Stock Exchange in 2013.

About Alan Rubenstein

Alan is the Chief Executive of the Pension Protection Fund, a role he has held since April 2009. Prior to joining the PPF he was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers from 2006 to 2008 and before that at Morgan Stanley from 1997 to 2006. Alan began his career with Scottish Widows, where he qualified as a Fellow of the Faculty of Actuaries.

Peter is currently a Non-Executive director at Aldermore Bank plc, Bank of Ireland plc and Willis Limited. He chairs the Risk Committees as well as being a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees at both Aldermore Bank and Bank of Ireland plc. Peter has formerly held a variety of senior executive positions with Royal Bank of Scotland Group and NatWest where he was Chief Risk Officer for the Retail, Wealth and Ulster businesses, and most recently as Interim CRO of the Co-Operative Banking Group. He has a wide range of experience in both risk and business roles throughout a career in financial services of over 30 years.
