– UK, Northwich – Dechra Pharmaceuticals is pleased to announce that Tony Rice has been appointed to the Board as Non-Executive Director and will be appointed as Chairman with effect from the conclusion of the Company’s Annual General Meeting on 21 October 2016, subject to his election as a Director of the Company at the AGM. As previously outlined to shareholders, Mike Redmond will step down from the Board at the conclusion of the AGM.
This appointment follows a comprehensive search process which was led by Ishbel Macpherson, Senior Independent Director, on behalf of the Board and which was undertaken by an external search agency.
Tony Rice has extensive board level experience across a range of sectors. He is currently the Senior Independent Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at Halma plc, having previously served as Chief Executive Officer at Cable & Wireless and Tunstall Holdings, and prior to that held various roles at BAE Systems including Managing Director of Commercial Aircraft and Group MD of Business Development. Tony has also served as a non-executive director at Punch Taverns, Spirit Pub Company, Cable & Wireless, Telewest Communications and Saab Technologies, and Chairman of Alexander Mann Solutions.

After almost 6 years’ service to the Company, Chris Richards has notified the Board of his intention to step down from his position as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect. Chris will also stand down as the Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
Ishbel Macpherson will succeed Chris Richards as Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
