Centrify appoints Murray Demo to its Board of Directors and names Rashmi Garde as General Counsel

– USA, CA – Centrify, the leader in securing enterprise identities against cyberthreats, today announced Rashmi Garde has been appointed as its general counsel with responsibility for all of Centrify’s worldwide legal affairs. Garde brings to Centrify over 20 years of legal experience in both public and privately-held companies, including past general counsel roles at VMware and Marin Software. Centrify also strengthened its board with the appointment of Murray Demo, former CFO of Adobe Systems, LiveOps, Postini and Dolby Laboratories.

“We’re excited to have two very experienced, talented and knowledgeable individuals join the Centrify team,” said Tom Kemp, CEO of Centrify. “They bring with them a wealth of experience building successful companies throughout the tech sector. We will rely on their expertise and knowledge as we continue to expand our efforts to secure enterprise identities against cyberthreats.”

Prior to Centrify, Garde served as General Counsel of two public companies, Marin Software and VMware, and the privately-held BloomReach. At Marin Software, she established the company’s in-house legal department. And during her nine-year tenure at VMware, Garde developed and led the company’s legal team as the company grew from a promising start-up with $20 million in annual revenue to a global enterprise with $2 billion in annual revenue. Before that, she served as in-house counsel at Electronics for Imaging (EFI), a public technology company. She began her career as an associate at Fenwick & West and later Graham & James, and holds a B.A. in Computer Science and a J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley.

“I am very excited to join Centrify because it has the range of vision, scale and product offerings needed to be a leader in the enterprise identity management space,” said Garde. “I really like the fact that Centrify adds significant value to improving an organizations’s security posture with its singular focus on protecting enterprises against the leading point of attack used in data breaches ― compromised credentials.”

As Adobe’s Chief Financial Officer for six years, Demo had worldwide responsibility for corporate accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, internal audit and other traditional CFO responsibilities. During his tenure, Adobe achieved record financial performance and became one of the world’s largest, most diversified software companies. After leaving Adobe in 2006, Demo went on to serve as CFO for Postini, LiveOps and Dolby Laboratories. He also serves as a board member for Citrix Systems, Atlassian, Xoom and Eze Software. Murray holds a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a MBA in Management from Golden Gate University.
