Auto Trader Group appoints David Keens to the Board as Independent Non-Executive Director

– UK, Manchester – Auto Trader Group plc (LSE: AUTO), the UK’s largest digital automotive marketplace, today announces that David Keens has been appointed as an independent non-executive director with immediate effect.

David has also been appointed as Senior Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee and will join the Remuneration and Nomination Committees with immediate effect. Tom Hall steps down as Chair of the Audit Committee but will continue to serve as a member of the Audit Committee. Ed Williams (Chairman) steps down from the Audit Committee.

David was previously Group Finance Director of NEXT plc (1991 – 2015) and their Group Treasurer (1986 – 1991). Previous management experience includes nine years in the UK and overseas operations of multinational food manufacturers Nabisco (1977 – 1986) and prior to that seven years in the accountancy profession. David is currently a non-executive director of J Sainsbury Plc.

Commenting on his appointment, Ed Williams, Auto Trader’s Chairman said: “We are delighted to welcome David to the Auto Trader Board. David’s depth of public company experience is an immensely valuable addition to the Board. He will play an important role in ensuring Auto Trader’s smooth transition to public company status and his appointment is a significant step towards achieving full compliance with the UK Corporate Governance Code.”
