– USA, CA – American Vanguard Corporation (NYSE: AVD), today announced that its board of directors has appointed Émer ÓBroin Gunter to serve on its board effective December 1, 2019. The appointment fills a vacancy that had been unfilled since 2016.

About Emer OBroin Gunter
Ms. Gunter served for 34 years in positions of increasing responsibility at Monsanto Company, including as Director of Manufacturing for Asia Pacific and Latin America and ultimately as Vice President of Environmental Health Safety & Human Rights. She has had extensive experience on the boards of non-profit organizations, including the Wildlife Habitat Council and the Eastern Missouri Red Cross. Ms. Gunter holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University and an MBA in International Business from St. Louis University. She is fluent in English and Spanish and holds dual citizenship in Ireland and the U.S.
