Affinity Water appoints Ann Bishop to its Board as Independent Director

– UK, Hatfield –  Affinity Water Limited (LON: 19LP) today announced the appointment of Ann Bishop to its Board as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 April 2020.

About Ann Bishop

Ann has worked for more than thirty years with regulated infrastructure businesses and regulators in the UK and internationally. She is founder and until recently Director of Indepen, which is known for promoting constructive challenge to the status quo and has convened and chaired cross-disciplinary groups to address controversial issues in the public, private and third sectors. She has a wealth of governance experience from working with boards and leading panels to review and challenge the thinking, strategies and plans of infrastructure businesses.

Before founding Indepen in 1990, Ann worked in the Strategy Group in Deloitte’s management consultancy division, working in a range of sectors, including financial services, high street retail, food manufacturing, design engineering and publishing. This followed a career in marketing and corporate finance with Natwest Investment Bank and Chase Manhattan Bank NA and in industrial relations for Overseas Containers Ltd.

Ann is Chair of the Customer Engagement Group for UK Power Networks. She is also a member of the Leeds Beckett University Board and Chair of the Senior Staff Remuneration Committee. Ann previously served as Deputy Chair of Opera North, Ambassador for Wellbeing of Women, a member of the Ofwat expert panel and a Commissioner on the London First Infrastructure Commission.
