Acell Industries appointed T.D. Decker to Board of Directors as new President and CEO

– IRELAND, Dublin – Acell Industries Ltd., a technology leader in the composites industry, announced the appointment of T.D. Decker as Acell’s President and CEO and a member of the Board of Directors effective May 7.  Mr. Decker brings decades of experience managing growth companies and creating shareholder value across a broad range of businesses.  Mr. Decker assumes the role of CEO from Aldino Albertelli, Acell’s founder and principal inventor, who will serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Technology Officer.

Mr. Decker has diverse experience leading high and low tech product and process manufacturing companies, and has worked with entrepreneurs, private equity, Fortune 50 and family owned businesses in start-up, emerging growth, operating improvement and turnaround situations.  He previously has served as CEO/President/Operating Partner/Chief Restructuring Officer for over a dozen businesses, and has served as a board member for over 30 companies and non-profits.  In addition to being an operator, he also has unique finance experiences as an interim CFO, principal with an LBO firm, investor with a family office and President of a $3 billion alternative investment firm.

Decker has a 26-year track record as an organization builder, change agent, and coach,” Albertelli said. “He has a history of developing leaders while improving customer satisfaction, business results, the culture, and shareholder value. We are excited to have him lead the Acell team.”  Mr. Decker said “I am very excited to work with Aldino and the Acell team to help accelerate the commercialization of the Acell composite technology.”

Mr. Decker received a B.S. in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1981, where he played quarterback for the Army football team, and received an M.B.A. from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business in 1988 and was the President of his class.  He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army, as a helicopter pilot in military operations in Grenada, and as the youngest staff officer for the 82nd Airborne Division.  He serves on the board of advisors for Camcraft, Matrix Design and Mission Measurement. He was previously active as a member of the Young President’s Organization.
