AA appoints Cathryn Riley to its Board as Non-Executive Director

– UK, Basingstoke – AA plc (LSE:AA), is pleased to announce the appointment of Cathryn Riley as Non-Executive Director of the Company with effect from 28 February 2018. Cathryn will also be appointed as a member of the risk committee on appointment.

Cathryn is currently Chair of the Group’s insurance broker, AA Insurance Services Limited (AAISL). She also holds non-executive positions at Equitable Life, International Personal Finance plc, Chubb European Group Ltd and Chubb Underwriting Agencies. She has a wide-ranging career covering insurance, customer services, IT, operations and human resources. Cathryn was Group Chief Operations Officer at Aviva plc and a member of the Executive Committee. She was a management consultant at Coopers & Lybrand and General Manager of Transformation at BUPA.

John Leach, Chairman of the AA, commented: “I am delighted that Cathryn has agreed to join the board at this time. She has been a great asset to the AA as Chair of our insurance broker. She is an experienced non-executive director with focus in insurance, financial services and IT transformation which will provide further strength and depth to the Board. Cathryn will resign from the AAISL Board following the appointment of a further independent non-executive and a period of handover. David Smith, an existing independent non-executive of AAISL and current Chair of the Culture & Conduct Committee will, subject to FCA consent, be appointed as Chair of the AAISL Board.
